Born and raised in New York Erica Maniscalco’s love for the arts started at an early age inspired by her exposure to classic Hollywood fashion, films and music! Knowing that Manhattan is the cultural city of the world she decided to stay there for College and pursue a career in Communication Arts at Marymount! After experiencing a variety of industries in school, Erica chose to start her career in Fashion public relations for designer YANSI FUGEL! With a successful seven year run at the designer’s showroom she felt it was time to move on and continue her dream by entering the artistry of makeup. Erica attended the prestigious Makeup Designory school located in Soho New York. Having recognizable artistic talents immediately launched her career with premiere collaborations on broadway, fashion photography, films, music videos and TV. Along with her career as a successful makeup artist Erica became Beauty Editor for The Fashion Journal, a quarterly fashion publication dedicated to showcasing emerging designers in the realm of fashion, art, photography, beauty and accessories. During this time Erica put together and art directed photo shoots with new talent around the country. When The Fashion Journal decided to end Erica’s love and appreciation for emerging talent did not end and with the help of four talented women On The Cusp was born!
The Sophisticated Stylist • Los Angeles, CA
Born and raised in St. Louis, MO. She started honing her craft at an early age working exclusively in the fashion industry in exploration of her future career path. Spending a semester in London she interned with at the infamous Liberty’s Department store as a visual merchandiser and studied fashion design and photography. Upon returning home she graduated with a degree in fashion merchandising and graphic design. She moved to California in 2003 working her way up the coast as a visual merchandiser for Nordstrom then Arden B. corporate styling windows and interiors, setting merchandising standards, and traveling the U.S. opening new stores. Freelancing on the weekends for a fashion magazine she found her true passion and calling in life. She realized it was time to explore new ventures and started a new life is Los Angeles, CA. She is currently a full time freelance wardrobe stylist and Fashion Director of On The Cusp Magazine.

Lisa earned a B.S. in Animal Science from the University of Maryland – College Park, but graduated and decided that working with animals wasn’t for her. In a complete 180°, Lisa decided to head into a career in public relations. She has done a little bit of everything to get the experience she needs in her hometown of New York City. In addition to at one time being an intern and assistant publicist at a boutique PR firm in Midtown, Manhattan, Lisa improved her writing skills by writing articles for The Fashion Journal and provided some pro-bono PR work the Girl Scout Council of Greater New York (GSGNY). Currently, she spends her time doing freelance work in communications while trying to prepare for Grad School. In her free time, Lisa is just as busy as she was in college. In addition to working on On the Cusp, She is a member of the Leadership Advisory Board, a junior board within GSGNY, a soprano with the Borough of Manhattan Community College (BMCC) Downtown Chorus, a rower and part-time coach with Harlem River Community Rowing and a coach of high school rowers at the Horace Mann School in the Riverdale section of the Bronx. Her love of music and theater are a great tie in to the work at On the Cusp and she can’t wait to help emerging artists get the exposure they need.

Lynda is a graphic designer. Her areas of expertise are graphics and print design/production with a side of photography. She went to school at LIU/Southampton College (gone now…snif) and majored in photography. After college she went on to continue her studies in graphic design at The Center for Desktop Publishing. She has since combined her loves of photography, graphics and fashion brought her to such magazines as the fashion editor of The Fashion Journal Magazine and now onto On The Cusp Magazine.

Petra is a visual consultant based in New York and serving the global community an array of services. Her overlapping areas of expertise are web design/development (back-end & front-end), and print design/production. Petra’s career path started at NJIT with a Major Information Technology and a minor in applied mathematics (go geek squad!). Although her concentration has taken an unexpected turn towards design, she has not forgotten her educational background by continuing to incorporate precision and functionality to all of her projects.
